SIBU: SMK Methodist School Board of Management chairman John Ting praised the school’s commitment to be one of the top schools in the country.

Praising the collective efforts of the staff, parents, students and former students, he said education was not only about academic performances, but also about moulding the young generation and preparing them for future challenges.

“Education is about the upgrading of life to make the world a better place. Therefore, in the awards ceremony today, it is about giving recognition to students in all scopes.”

“Life is about learning. Students who have not received awards today will do so if they continue striving,” said Ting during SMK Methodist’s award presentation ceremony held recently.

SMK Methodist principal Yong Choo Tiong, in his speech, said the school had produced the highest number of students with straight A’s in last year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
