The 57th Anniversary Dinner of National Council of Women’s Organisations (NCWO)

Romans 12:15a (NIV)  Rejoice with those who rejoice

NCWO was officially established on 25th August 1963 to act as a consultative, advisory, non-political, non-religious and non communal body which unites women’s organisations and cooperates with national, regional and international organisations. NCWO celebrated the 57th Anniversary at the Sunway Putra Hotel on August 24, 2019. Our Queen, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah attended. Her Majesty’s birthday was celebrated at the Hari Wanita dinner too. A very encouraging and motivational speech was given by our Queen. CCM (The Council of Churches of Malaysia) was also invited to present a few songs at the celebration dinner.

We, the Methodist women thank God for being given the opportunity to sing with all the sisters from different denominations. The conducter was sister Grace Ho from KL Methodist Hokkien Church. Fifty eight (58) sisters from the Chinese Annual Conference, seven (7) sisters from Tamil Annual Conference, seven (7) sisters from Trinity Annual Conference, six (6) sisters from Lutheran Church, two (2) sisters from The Syriac Orthodox Church attended. Seven (7) Instrumentalists from KL Methodist Hokkien Church led by Bro Koh provided the music. The four (4) Songs we sang were : 1. Hari Wanita  2. NCWO  3. Sejahtera Malaysia 4. You Raise me Up.

Altogether 87 members of the Combined choir and instrumentalists sang and praised our God at this special dinner comprising different races. A very inspiring speech was given by the President of NCWO, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Prof. Emerita Dr. Sharifah Hapsah binti Syed Hasan Shahabudin. Madam Ramani Gurusamy, age 71 was awarded Anugerah Pingat Tun Fatimah.  Representatives from CCM were Mary Thomas Mathew, Veni, Suzy, Shanty, Agatha, Sherly.
